NYC Local Law 196 of 2017 will change the Construction Industry by requiring workers to earn a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. Before SST cards are required in 2019, workers will need to earn a Limited SST card.

Qualifications 1 of 4 ways:
OSHA 30 Take Class in Brooklyn | Take Class in The Bronx
OR
OSHA 10 plus 20 other hours of safety training:
– OSHA 10 Take Class in Brooklyn | Take Class in The Bronx
– 8-Hour Fall Prevention Take Class in Brooklyn | Take Class in The Bronx
– 8-Hour Chapter 33 (Site Safety Manager Refresher)
– 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User
OR
100-hour training program (such as an approved apprenticeship)
OR
“Prior Experience” (OSHA 30 more than 5 years old) plus 8 hours of safety training:
– 4-Hour Fall Prevention
– 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User
“Can I get the Limited SST card right now?”
Yes
“When will my Limited SST card expire?”
August 31, 2020. On September 1, 2020, all workers will need to have the complete Site Safety Training (SST) card, and Limited cards will no longer be valid.
